What is The Speedway Project? A multimedia project preserving the collective memory of the Speedway Café, a trailblazing underground music venue in Salt Lake City, UT that was around from 1986-1990. What type of materials are you looking for? We are looking for your old flyers, ticket stubs, photographs and audio/video recordings. We also want to hear your stories and memories so please reach out if you went to shows there, we want to hear all about it! How do I submit my files? In what format? Upload your files here through our website. Digital scans must be a minimum of 600 dpi in .tiff, .jpeg or .pdf format. Audio files must be in .wav or .aiff format. If you have video, please email us directly. Are you only accepting digital files? What if I want to contribute but don’t have any way of digitizing or converting what I have to share? Please email us directly, we will work it out. What if I don’t have any physical materials, but I still want to contribute with my memories and stories? If you were a frequent patron please email us, we will want to hear from you directly. If you prefer to send your stories in writing please upload your files here. What happens after I submit my materials? You will be contacted with confirmation that your file was received. If there is an issue with the file we will let you know. Will everything that gets submitted be used? Not everything that gets submitted will be used in the final project. We will curate based on the volume and quality of materials submitted.
